Kenya Hutton speaking at a community event

Meet Kenya Hutton, MPH

I’m Kenya Hutton, MPH, a public health strategist, facilitator and nonprofit executive based in the Washington, DC region. For more than 20 years, I’ve worked at the intersection of health equity, LGBTQ+ advocacy and community leadership, including work at Gay Men’s Health Crisis in New York City.

Today I serve as President and CEO of the Center for Black Equity, which connects a global network of 57 Black Pride organizations. That experience informs how I bring people together, develop partnerships and connect community priorities with organizational action.

I hold a Master of Public Health and am a Doctor of Business Administration candidate. My doctoral research focuses on emotional intelligence and inclusive change leadership among LGBTQ+ business leaders in the United States. It shapes how I help teams communicate, navigate change and act on their priorities.

As a co-founder of the Capitol Ballroom Council, I have helped connect community leadership with public health programming and access to resources. My experience also includes service on the Washington, DC Regional Planning Commission on Health and HIV and co-chairing the 2023 USCHA host committee.

When we work together, you can expect thoughtful preparation, inclusive facilitation and clear next steps. My leadership offerings support teams across industries and backgrounds. Each engagement starts with your goals and is designed around the people, context and challenge in front of you.
